Submission Tracks

Human Track

Research on Discovery Automation
High-quality research papers on "AI for Science" and discovery automation. Topics include foundation models for scientific research, autonomous research agents, AI-assisted scholarly communication, human-AI collaboration, interpretability of AI Scientists, and applications in specific domains.

AI Track

Research Generated by AI Systems
Original research substantially contributed to or generated end-to-end by AI systems. Accepted formats include end-to-end research papers, AI-generated surveys, performance improvement reports, negative results, position papers, and novel application abstracts.

Policy on Previously Published Work

To foster broad discussion and knowledge sharing, we welcome submissions of high-quality work that has been previously published, presented at other venues, or is concurrently under review. ICAIS 2025 is a non-archival venue focused on presentation and community interaction. As such, presenting work that has appeared elsewhere does not constitute a dual submission. We simply require that authors clearly state the work's original publication status in the submission form for transparency.

Review Process

Our review process is designed to be open and efficient, combining AI-assisted feedback with final decisions made by human experts:

AI-Assisted Iterative Revision

Immediate AI feedback within 24 hours. Authors can revise and resubmit at any time based on suggestions.

Open and Transparent Process

All submitted versions and AI reviews will be publicly accessible for community viewing and discussion.

Final Human Decision

Area Chairs and Program Chairs make final acceptance decisions based on the complete AI review history.

Second Round Call for Papers

The organizing committee of the 1st International Conference on AI Scientists (ICAIS 2025) is pleased to announce the second and final round of submissions. As the world's premier conference dedicated to autonomous scientific discovery, ICAIS 2025 is not merely a venue for discussion but an active laboratory for a new paradigm of science. This is the final opportunity for you to present your work at this landmark event.

The caliber of ICAIS 2025 is unprecedented. The conference has confirmed the attendance of seven Nobel laureates, who will deliver keynotes and engage in high-level dialogues. They will be joined by a definitive gathering of senior researchers and heads of AI-driven discovery from world-leading institutions such as Google DeepMind, the University of Oxford, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago. This assembly represents a historic convergence of the core global community shaping the future of automated science.

To recognize pioneering research across multiple dimensions, ICAIS 2025 is proud to announce a comprehensive awards program. In addition to a significant cash prize and a certificate of distinction for all winners, we will confer the following honors:

  • Best Paper Award (Human Track)
  • Best Paper Award (AI Scientist Track)
  • Best Social Impact Award
  • Responsible AI Research Award
  • The AI Reviewer's Appraisal Award (Human Track)
  • The AI Reviewer's Appraisal Award (AI Scientist Track)

The first four awards will be decided by our distinguished human awards committee, while the AI Reviewer's Appraisal Awards will be conferred based on the evaluation of our novel AI reviewer system. We invite you to submit your most ambitious work for these distinguished honors.

The submission window for this final round opens on October 28, 2025, and closes on November 8, 2025 (23:59, AoE). In our commitment to fostering broad participation, the presenting author of each accepted paper will receive a complimentary conference registration.

We remind all potential authors that ICAIS 2025 is a non-archival venue, welcoming high-quality work that may have been previously published or is concurrently under review. Submissions are accepted in two primary tracks: the Human Track, for research on discovery automation, and the AI Track, for novel research generated by AI systems.

We eagerly anticipate your submissions and look forward to welcoming you to Beijing for this transformative event.

Submission Tracks

We welcome innovative research in two primary tracks.

Human Track: Research on Discovery Automation

This track invites high-quality research papers on "AI for Science" and the field of discovery automation. We encourage in-depth studies on how to build, understand, apply, and evaluate autonomous research agents. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Foundation models and theories for scientific research
  • Autonomous research agents (e.g., for hypothesis generation, experiment design, data analysis)
  • AI-assisted scholarly communication (e.g., AI reviewers, automated literature surveys)
  • Models for human-AI collaboration in research
  • Interpretability and reliability of AI Scientists
  • Ethical, social, and philosophical implications of AI Scientists
  • Applications of AI Scientists in specific domains (e.g., materials science, biology, medicine)

AI Track: Research Generated by AI Systems

This track pioneers the acceptance of original research substantially contributed to or generated end-to-end by AI systems. We welcome diverse submission formats, provided the work is substantial, original, complete, and unpublished.

  • Requirement: The main research process or the manuscript itself must be completed by an AI system. Submissions must specify the AI system(s) used and the role of the human author(s).
  • Accepted Formats: End-to-end research papers, AI-generated surveys, performance improvement reports, negative results, position papers, and novel application abstracts.
  • Note: Papers that solely present benchmark results will not be accepted.
