We invite you to identify and celebrate representative scientific progress that turns bold predictions into reality. ICAIS 2026 looks back at the 2025 Frontier Science Progress and 2026 Forward-Looking Predictions across information science, physics, chemistry, biology, and economics.
Overview
The Representative Scientific Case program honors research progress over the past year that advances the frontier of science at the intersection of AI and discovery.
From Prediction to Recognition
- 2025 — Predict: ICAIS put forward predictions across five scientific domains.
- 2026 — Validate: We examine which predictions materialized and identify the researchers behind them.
- 2026 — Recognize: Selected cases are recognized at ICAIS 2026 and presented to the global community.

One representative case will be selected from each domain, with a total of 5–10 cases recognized.
Recognition and Benefits
- Honorary certificate signed by the ICAIS Academic Committee Chair and Conference Chair.
- An invited presentation at ICAIS 2026.
- Feature coverage on ICAIS official channels and selected partner media.
- Permission to refer to the work as an “ICAIS 2026 Representative Scientific Case”.
No monetary award will be provided.

Application Guidelines
Nomination pathways: PIs or team leads may self-nominate. Members of the ICAIS Selection or Academic Committee may also nominate candidate works.
- Research Summary: Up to 1,000 words in Chinese and English.
- Representative Papers: 1–3 papers with DOI or preprint links.
- Impact Statement: Evidence such as citations, applications, or media coverage.
The work must represent significant progress completed between November 2025 and September 2026. Researchers worldwide may nominate, without nationality or affiliation restrictions.
Selection and Conduct
The Selection Committee will be co-chaired by Prof. Tao Qin and an invited Nobel or Turing laureate. Domain panels will include 3–5 expert reviewers, with at least 50% international scholars. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed, and conflicted reviewers will not assess an applicant. Criteria, procedures, and the committee roster will be published; shortlisted candidates will be open to community feedback.
